the long awaited movie!!

After waiting for nearly 3 whole days i finally got tickets for the fourth day first show for the long awaited "VETTAIYAADU VILAIYAADU". I went with my friends and needless to say, buncked college! Anyway this is not the first time i am doin it! we all made sure that we entered the theatre atleast ten minutes before the movie, and prepare ourselves with those"aaaaa ooooo wowwww!! and what not!" After all its my hero's movie, and i, being a loyal fan ought to show him some respect!! OK!Ok! enough of the introduction. Now comes the review!

Since the movie is directed by Gautam, it has few touches of his "Kakka kakka" direction. First, both are police stories. Second, the heros, towards the end of the movies, are blackmailed by the villains using the heroines as an instrument. However, JO does have a matured role here when compared to the other movie. Not because she plays the role of a divorcee and that of a mother, but her make up and the way she presents herself on screen speak for themselves. Also, you can find that, for once Kamal has just been an actor, not involving himself into too many aspects of the movie. Isn't this really different? I am sure he wouldn't have been like this in a long time!

The music has come out brilliantly, apt for the situations, except for that "uyirile"song which slows down the pace of the movie. But it happens with tamil movies. In the absence of such songs, no movie will hit the box office here. The intoduction song for kamal "Karka Karka" seems stylish! "Sikki murukki neruppe' is another peppy number.

As far as the storyline is concerned, it is definitely a different one. The good part was that, not much of an importance was given to Kamal's first romance. And about the violence in the movie, i think it is a necessary flavour. In its absence, we would not have realised the seriousness of the murders and the imporatnce of Kamal goin all the way to newyork to investigate the murder. The manner of investigation was shown with an interesting screenplay, especially the use of camera angles. And the scene where the villain tells Kamal that his pulmonary tissues have been damaged and that his lungs have been severely hurt because of it, clearly shows that Gautam has done enough homework on the script. But, i couln't understand the logic of showing the villians as "homosexuals" towrads the end of the movie. That seemed to be nausiating and irrelavent to me. Neverthelss, the dialouge rendereing in the movie was very good.

In a nut shell, this movie is an amazing blend of story, screenplay, suspence, romance, action and music. Though its not a funny movie, the end part will definitely make all of us happy because its like the usual ending (unlike Kakka Kakka), which sings" and the hero and heroine lived happily ever after".

After a long time i got a satisfaction of seeing agood movie. Lets see how "dasavadharam" hits the screen!!!

good review madhu.. i think the concept of homosexuals was also important and very much relevant.. tamil movies need to have some masala to make the viewers enjoy the movie!! and moreover that concept was neccessary to find out where aradhana was towards the end..
