frame the rules before u play!

After an hour of boring lecture in college, what would we prefer to do? The immediate reply would be to bunk the class and go out somewhere. Most of us wouldn be lazy enough to bunk college and go home!!:P. So, we would all prefer going to a nearby theatre to chill out seeing a movie, Whether we like it or not is immaterial. Here, the best thing is to hang out with friends. Thus, movies,in th recent past have become the greatest entertainer for us, apart from beaches, where we hang out with our friends, with a small packet of kadalai in our hands.

Inspite of all this, certain movies would be so boring and meaningless and we would feel as if we have been forced to watch them because neither we would be able to get out of the hall nor we would like seeing the movie. Why is this happening?

Today, i notice a changing trend in the field of tamil film industry. Previously people used to like masala movies with all ingredients like sentiments, comedy, gana songs, duet, romance, action, suspense and what not. But, now more of "dhadha" oriented movies are coming in, wherein the hero is a rowdy initially, and then changes himself to a human being for his heroine's love. Or, the heroine decideds to still love the rowdy-hero for who he is. I have heard love is blind. But, is it also dumb???????? The directors of such movies know very well that these things are beyond reality. But ironically in their personal interviews they say they have a great responsibilty to give a good movie because movies are reflections of our real lives.

If so, in reality, is it really possible for a middle class woman to love a rowdy and sing duets with him?Either she should be desparate to fall in love or she should have been threatened to do so. However, here, the latter reality is generally not shown. Do we actually get any satisfaction on shelling out money at random and seeing such movies?? Ofcourse, its so much fun to pass on comments for every dialouge that is being rendered without allowing others to watch the movie in peace. But, after sometime even we get fed up commenting, because the same logic is repeated through out the movie. So, majority of us prefer giving an emphatic NO as the answer to this question. Nevertheless such movies are standing up in today's trend.

I don't mean to say movies should have a serious social message in them. But, atleast they could be made enjoyable. There are just two elements which have become prominent in today's tamil cinemas. First is the romance element and next one is rowdism, in the name of action. These are neither entertaining nor meaningful. It's high time directors frame the rules of the game before they play it. Atleast, in this way they can save their money and our time!!

good one there junior !

You're absolutely right about the "dadha" element. However, one thing I feel - I've seen many kind of those "dadha" people around and they are "good as Gods" to girls - they shed all their rowdyism in front of those girls and behave like pucca gentlemen..

in any of those movies, does the "dadha hero" show porukki thanam towards girls?

I've seen a lot of it in real life to.. the girls just dont know their friend is such a "Dadha" until they are close enough to him
